Hello everyone,

As the 10th annual Sacramento Valley AIDS Run/Walk draws near, I would like to sincerely thank you for your efforts. Through cooperation, we are saving lives and improving the community's overall health.

Despite the current financial crisis, you have still generously contributed. However, we must continue pushing forward as services for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS become less available. Basic necessities such as food, transportation and medication are more difficult for people to come by. Truly, our economic adversity is put into perspective by the everyday struggles of people living with HIV. When we engage our minds and hearts to fight for a cause, we can accomplish great feats.

I believe, as do many people, that HIV/AIDS is a serious issue that requires education, hard work, and compassion to be comprehensively addressed. On September 12, 2010, we will gather at the State Capitol to show our support for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. We will show that their cause is our cause, and it is worth fighting for.

We can make a difference. Any donation helps. A five dollar donation can provide some preventative materials or pencils for a student with HIV/AIDS. The bottom line is that the more we raise, the more lives we save. Ask your friends to donate any sum, dig deep into your contacts list on your cell phone to find those precious few dollars.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Joyce Mitchell
President
Capital City AIDS Fund
